Typo tolerance
Returning correct results even when the query contains spelling mistakes.
Roughly one in ten e-commerce queries contains a typo. A typo-tolerant engine indexes terms in a structure that allows cheap lookups of near-neighbours (edits of one or two characters), so «snaekers» still retrieves «sneakers» without the shopper noticing.
AACSearch goes further for Cyrillic keyboards and mixed input: when a query produces nothing, a rescue ladder tries keyboard-layout translation, transliteration and progressively broader matching before showing an empty page.
