Stopwords
Common, low-signal words excluded from relevance scoring so they don't drown out the terms that actually distinguish a query.
Words like «and», «the» or «для» appear in almost every document, so scoring them like any other term would let a query match on noise instead of signal. A stopword list tells ranking to mostly ignore them while still allowing an exact phrase match to use every word.
Stopword lists are per language — a list tuned for English prose is wrong for Russian, and a catalogue of model numbers may want none at all — so AACSearch keeps them as an editable, language-scoped setting rather than one global default.
