Search rules
A rule that matches a specific query pattern and takes an action — pin a result, hide it, or redirect the query — without touching the general ranking formula.
Where a ranking-formula change affects every query, a search rule targets one: when a shopper searches «last year's model», redirect them to the current one; when they search a discontinued SKU, pin the closest replacement instead of returning nothing.
Rules are the building block merchandising campaigns are made of — a seasonal push is a scheduled batch of rules, each scoped to the query patterns and dates it should apply to, reviewable and reversible without a deploy.
