AACSearch: Cost-Effective Search Without Compromise

Every SaaS team evaluating search infrastructure hits the same question: Other Providers is the market leader, but the pricing escalates fast. AACSearch is newer — does it deliver comparable quality at a fraction of the cost?
We did the math across three usage tiers so you don't have to.
Methodology
We compared AACSearch's Pro plan ($29/mo, 100K searches, 10K documents) and Enterprise plan ($299/mo, 1M searches, 100K documents) against Other Providers's equivalent tiers using their published pricing at algolia.com/pricing.
Both platforms offer: full-text search, faceted filtering, typo tolerance, analytics, and multi-tenant support.
Tier 1: Early-Stage SaaS (100K searches/mo)
| Feature | Other Providers | AACSearch | | ------------------------ | ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------ | | Monthly cost | $299/mo (Growth) | $29/mo (Pro) | | Search operations | 100K included | 100K included | | Documents | 10K | 10K | | Analytics | Basic | Full (query volume, CTR, popular searches) | | Zero-downtime reindexing | Enterprise only ($599+) | Included | | i18n search UI | Separate add-on | Built-in, 5 languages | | Connectors | API only | PrestaShop, Bitrix, Next.js, React |
Savings: 10x
Tier 2: Growing Business (1M searches/mo)
| Feature | Other Providers | AACSearch | | ----------------- | ------------------- | -------------------- | | Monthly cost | $1,299/mo (Premium) | $299/mo (Enterprise) | | Search operations | 1M included | 1M included | | Documents | 100K | 100K | | Analytics | Advanced | Full | | SLA | 99.9% | 99.9% | | SSO/SAML | Enterprise plan | Enterprise plan |
Savings: 4.3x
Tier 3: High-Volume (10M searches/mo)
At this tier, Other Providers requires a custom enterprise contract starting around $5,000/mo. AACSearch Enterprise can support this with custom pricing — typically $1,500-2,000/mo depending on document count and features.
Estimated savings: 3-5x
The Hidden Costs
Beyond the line item, there are costs Other Providers doesn't advertise:
- Zero-downtime reindexing is an enterprise-only feature on Other Providers (+$300/mo minimum). AACSearch includes it on all paid plans.
- Search analytics that Other Providers charges extra for (click analytics, query suggestions) are built into AACSearch.
- Multi-region deployment on Other Providers requires custom enterprise contracts; AACSearch offers it on the Enterprise plan.
The Trade-Off
AACSearch uses AACSearch under the hood (open source) rather than Other Providers's proprietary engine. For standard search use cases — product search, site search, app search — quality is comparable. However, Other Providers offers more advanced personalization and AI-powered ranking features that some enterprise teams may need.
Bottom line: If you need a search engine that "just works" at a reasonable price, AACSearch saves you 5-10x. If you need Other Providers's advanced AI personalization layer, the premium may be worth it.
